CMSE is currently recruiting a Site Safety Engineer on behalf of our client for a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Cork.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with External Service Providers, Regulators and Community as needed support business needs.
  • Conduct Process Safety Assessments (PHA/LOPA/HazOp, etc).
  • Conduct Chemical Risk Assessments.
  • Support all department risk assessment activities.
  • Generate Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ensure site compliance with COMAH and REACH Requirements.
  • Maintain and update Hazard Area Classifications.
  • Support New Process Introductions.
  • Support and Provide Safety Training.
  • Support the development and implementation of the site Emergency Response and Management teams and supporting systems.
  • Report on Safety performance.
  • Support the development and implementation of the site safety and environmental management systems.
  • To provide technical safety support to the business.
  • Meet the KPIs defined for the area.
  • Works independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Support the development and implementation of the site safety and environmental management systems.
  • Communication/Training.
  • Risk Assessment.
  • Technical Advise.
  • Emergency response.

Requierement:

  • Honours Degree in Process Chemistry / Chemical Engineering discipline with 5+ years exposure to Process / Chemical Safety in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • A strong understanding of the operating principles and safety features of pharmaceutical processing technologies.
  • Experience in project management and a track record within a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal, technical writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple task/assignments to demanding deadlines.
  • Experience in HAZOP and HAZID studies associated with process industry.
  • Able to interact successfully with a wide range of people from differing disciplines and backgrounds.
  • Planning and execution skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of,and competence in manufacturing operations and business processes.
  • Good understanding of pharmaceutical or bio processing technologies.
