NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) and BCSP (the Board of Certified Safety Professionals) have announced a new agreement which will certify technical competency criteria within safety, health and environmental practitioners in the US.
What does this mean to you?
If you have earned either the NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and meet the eligibility requirements of BCSP you can now sit the examination to become a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) without having to take the BCSP Associate Safety Professional Examination.
Similarly if you are a CSP you may achieve the NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety by just sitting and passing the assessments and without taking the related NEBOSH training course.
NEBOSH Chief Executive, Teresa Budworth said that “NEBOSH are always looking for ways to help our students use their qualifications, wherever in the world they may be working”. Teresa goes on to say ” the dual certification of BCSP and NEBOSH will make them very attractive to employers.”
BCSP Chief Executive, Dr.Treasa Turnbeaugh commented that ” the agreement will provide skilled and knowledgeable safety professionals a method to enhance their careers”
The NEBOSH Certificate is a widely used safety qualification and is used by hundreds of safety professionals to enhance their CVs. It is also used by employers to demonstrate that their managers, safety officers and supervisors are both qualified and competent in Safety Management.
CMSE Training is a leading provider of NEBOSH courses and currently provide two separate NEBOSH courses:
NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management.
