An articulated dump truck recently split in half whilst pulling a windmill up a hill on a construction site in Millstreet, Co. Cork.
It has since come to light that one of the operators involved in the incident allegedly had false qualification documentation. Under health and safety law, all operatives of plant machinery are legally required to pass Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) training for the type of machinery they are operating.
As the enforcing authority for Health & Safety in the workplace, the HSA are in control of investigating incidents but has not yet been formally notified of the incident as no one was injured.
