CMSE Training announce new IOSH Approved Machinery Safety Course

stopCMSE Training now offers an IOSH approved, two day training course designed to provide you and your employees with the legislative and practical knowledge and skills required for the safe use of equipment and machinery in your workplace.

Under current Irish Legislation and EU Directives you as an employer or end user of machinery in the workplace must ensure that:

  • Your machinery is designed, provided and maintained so as to be safe and without risk to health
  • The use of any machinery is covered by a risk assessment
  • Your equipment is complying with regulatory Essential Health and Safety Requirements (EHSRs)
  • All of your relevant personnel have the knowledge required to make informed decisions on machinery safety

CMSE Consultancy has been a leading provider of machinery safety support to many clients nationally for many years working to legislative requirements and bench marking against industry best practice.  Due to customer demand CMSE Training have now designed this IOSH approved course to assist clients in ensuring their compliance and safe use of working with their machinery.

This course will provide you with a practical knowledge of the relevant domestic regulations and EU Directives.  It will then help you determine the steps you should take to ensure compliance such as auditing equipment and checking CE Markings and Certificates.  You will also review what the required Equipment Technical File should contain including manufacturer EHSRs and any explanations of how the machine complies with them.

Upon attendance of this course you will also review the step by step process to document and control your regulatory-required machinery risk assessment.  The steps covered will include determining the machine limits and purpose, identifying the hazards, estimation and evaluation risks, likelihood of occurrence, possibility of avoiding injury and severity.

The course will also provide you with industry best practice tips for implementing machinery safe systems at work including emergency stop-controls, lock out-tag out, work areas around machines, appropriate protective clothing and equipment as well as sufficient training and record keeping.  It will also provide you with the information you need to best prepare yourself for statutory inspections.

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive your IOSH Certification on Machinery Safety. This industry recognised accreditation will allow you to return to your workplace ready to implement your new machinery safety skills and knowledge.  For more information on this course click here
