LEVEL 2 Certified First Aid for Mental Health course – Meet your Trainer!

Hello Everyone, my name is Louise Dennison and I am a First Aid for Mental Health Instructor with Chris Mee Group.

I have a chemistry degree, and I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for a few years. I went back and got a post graduate in Business and management followed by a few years working in a financial company setting up two online companies. I then worked with individuals who have autism and asperges for a couple of years. I had my daughters and stayed at home for a few years (and moved to Cork) with my girls before returning to study to become an Emergency Medical Technician which is similar to a paramedic.  I am currently an event medic in my spare time. I returned to study two years ago and have finally found my passion. I teach mental health first aid to both individuals and companies.

I’m instructing an upcoming LEVEL 2 Certified First Aid for Mental Health course with Chris Mee Group and would love to share some info with you.

What is Mental Health?

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

Let me give you a brief outline of our LEVEL 2 Certified First Aid for Mental Health course.

This course focuses on developing the skill to engage with someone with a potential mental health condition and signpost him/her towards the proper help. The duration of this course is a full day, where candidates will be given skills on how to engage empathically and non-judgementally and reach out to those who have or may be developing a mental health condition.

Who can do this course? This course is ideal for anyone with a general interest in mental health and can also be useful for management to help and support mental health in the workplace or if you want to help others in your workplace or community?
