Course Objectives

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess the relevant danger or safety of manual handling tasks
  • Recommend preventative measures which can reduce the risk of injury
  • Lift and handle loads safely
  • Identify ergonomic risks and recommend control measures
  • Instruct others on the theory and techniques of safe handling

  • DAY 1 – Unit 1 – Legislative requirements and Manual Handling management
  • DAY 2 – Unit 2 – Anatomy and back care

  • DAY 4 – Unit 4 – Planning and design of manual handling training programmes
  • DAY 5 – Unit 5 – Delivery of manual handling training – Assessments
