GSK, one of the world’s leading healthcare companies, employs over 1,700 people across four locations in Ireland – Dungarvan, Cork, Sligo and Dublin. GSK export Irish made products to over 70 countries worldwide and contribute over €1.6 billion in Irish exports per year. In operation since 1975, the manufacturing site in Ringaskiddy Co. Cork produces the active ingredients for 9 of GSK’s medicines, including treatments for cancer, depression and Parkinson’s disease. The Ringaskiddy site was one of the first sites in the GSK network to co-locate an R&D plant on-site and this has continued with the creation of a ‘second generation’ facility. The plant also diversification into manufacturing consumer healthcare ingredients in 2013.

The ongoing safety and security of employees, contractors and the communities in which they operate is the number one priority for GSK.
Since 2001 Chris Mee Group has supported GSK Ringaskiddy’s Health and Safety requirements for their multiple expansion construction projects. This support includes full control of all construction project safety including sub contractor pre-qualification, contractor access/security control and pension compliance and union membership management. Chris Mee Group also provide all permit to work systems and safe systems in design of plant and systems and provide site safety consultancy on many projects.
