Who Is This Course Intended For?

This course is intended for private groups, for those who wish to gain an understanding of Chemical and Biological Hazards in the workplace.

Course Objectives

Chemical Awareness (3.5h)

  • Be aware of the legal requirements around the use of chemicals in the workplace
  • Have an awareness of the hazards associated with the use and handling of chemicals.
  • Understand chemical Symbols and labels
  • Be aware of the correct Storage and Segregation of Chemicals
  • Understand the content of a Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
  • Know the importance and limitations of using the correct PPE.

Biological Agents (2h)

  • Understanding what biological agents are
  • How exposure may arise
  • Know what to consider when conducting a biological agent’s risk assessment.
  • Choosing effective protective and preventative measures to apply to biological hazards.
  • Gain an understating of Bio Safety Levels of facilities.
