Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007, there is a requirement on employers based on a risk assessment to have a sufficient number of Occupational First Aiders trained and deployed in the workplace.


Chris Mee Group’s, three day FETAC / QQI accredited Occupational First Aid courses are intended for personnel who wish to become certified first aiders in their workplace.
Having successfully completed this course you will be able to:

  • Identify the responsibilities of a first aider
  • Provide necessary first aid within the workplace
  • Deal with emergencies while awaiting the arrival of emergency services
  • Implement essential life-saving skills if required
  • Master the recovery position
  • Recognise Asphyxia and its causes
Assessment for this Occupational First Aid course includes: Written test, practical incident scenario, CPR – AED test
Having successfully completed this Occupational First Aid course you will receive:
  • FETAC Level 5 Minor Award in Occupational First Aid 5N1207 – awarded by QQI.
  • Take home copy of the book “First Aid, CPR, and AED”.

Your FETAC Level 5 Minor Award in Occupational First Aid 5N1207 will be valid for 2 years. If you exceed two years and 90 days then you will have to attend the full 3-day course again.
