Course objectives
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the legislation and VDU regulations relating to DSE Equipment
- Understand the basic principles of ergonomics
- Identify ergonomic risk factors
- Carry out a DSE/VDU assessment of a workstation
- Implement suitable control measures
Course content
- Overview of legislation related to display screen equipment.
- Principles of ergonomics and ergonomic risk factors.
- Work related upper limb disorders
- Hazard identification process
- DSE/VDU risk assessment
- Risk reduction methods
- Review of helpful flexibility exercises
- Overview of ergonomic accessories
Assessment and certification
Participants are required to carry out a practical VDU/DSE assessment and a short written examination.
Full CMSE certification is provided on successful completion of the course.
