Taxi Driver (SPSV) Driver Training

All Small Public Service Vehicles or SPSVs must now be driven by QUALIFIED drivers ONLY.  These qualifications are attained by passing an electronic examination at test centres across the country.  The qualification is now required by Irish legislation that is strictly enforced by the Office of the Taxi Regulator.  As you would expect SPSVs include all Taxis in Ireland.  However, did you know that SPSVs also includes all Hackneys and Limousines in the country.

In order to prepare for the Taxi Regulators examination CMSE have formulated a specific ONE DAY SPSV COURSE  that will give you a great advantage over others who do not attend our training.  In this case our course will assist you in getting the qualification and keep employed !   CMSE has a short three hour REFRESHER SPSV COURSE for current drivers and for drivers who will be repeating the examination every three years.  Please contact us on 1850 315 415 or using the QUICK ENQUIRY FORM to register for any of the courses or to make an enquiry.

Target Audience

Standard taxi drivers (current and new), wheelchair accessible taxi drivers, hackney drivers and limousine drivers. The taxi regulator is aware from its own research and experience that many drivers and operators provide an excellent service, but in many cases those most in need of training are the very people who resist or fear it most. The commission for Taxi Regulation says this has been particularly evident in its consultation with SPSV drivers.
