Course Aims

To give the participants the skill and knowledge required to operate an MEWP safely and effectively

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Carry out pre use checks
2. Refuel/recharge MEWPS safely
3. Operate a MEWP safely, reducing the risk of damage or injury to operators and pedestrians
4. Use safe operating techniques
5. Correctly position MEWPS in relation to task requirements
6. Identify hazards associated with the use of MEWP
7. Identify the maximum load that the MEWP will support

Target Audience

This half -day course is designed for experienced operators who do not hold a certificate but do have experience operating the MEWP.

Course Contents

• Introduction to course

• Introduction to MEWP

• Safe operating practices and safety video

• Elementary operation

• Explanation, demonstration and guided practice in the correct procedures to adopt when operating an MEWP

• Examination (written and practical)

Accreditation

Full certification of attendance is provided on successful completion of the course.
