Our Manual Handling Refresher course is designed for Manual Handling Instructors who need an update or a refresh of manual handling information, manual handling regulations, techniques and best practice including ergonomics, risk assessment and our "Train the Trainer" module.

Manual Handling Refresher Course

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess the relative danger or safety of manual handling tasks
  • Recommend preventive measures which can reduce the risk of injury.
  • Lift and handle loads safely.
  • Identify ergonomic risks and recommend control measures.
  • Instruct others on the theory and techniques of safe manual handling.

This course is intended for manual handling instructors who are required to refresh their instructional skills.

Mechanisims used to assimilate Knowledge

The course is highly participative and interactive. Participants practice the techniques of instruction as well as those of safe manual handling. Syndicate exercises, demonstrations and ergonomic assessments also form a major part of the programme.

Participants are examined by means of a written examination. Participants are also required to prepare and deliver a short presentation.

Full CMSE certification is provided on successful completion of the course.
